Classic Teen Patti is only the start. Home games at Diwali have always come with house variations, and apps like Teen Patti Master and Yono Winner rotate them into their lobbies. The table name tells you which one you are playing, but not how it changes your decisions.
This guide explains the variations you are most likely to meet, with the one rule change each makes and what that does to hand values. Names and exact rules vary a little between apps, so always open the table’s rules panel before your first hand.

Muflis (Lowball)
Muflis turns the game upside down: the lowest hand wins. A Trail becomes the worst hand you can hold and a plain High Card becomes the target. The best possible hand is 2-3-5 in mixed suits, because 2-3-4 would be a Sequence and three cards of one suit would be a Color, both of which now count against you.
The trap in Muflis is habit. Experienced classic players reflexively like Pairs and Colors. In Muflis, those are losing hands.
AK47
Every Ace, King, 4 and 7 is wild, which is 16 of the 52 cards. The probability that a three-card hand contains at least one wild card is 1 − (36 choose 3 ÷ 52 choose 3) = 1 − 7,140 ÷ 22,100, or about 68%. With one wild card you can turn any Pair into a Trail. With two, you always have a Trail.
Because strong hands are common, a plain Pair or Color is weak in AK47. Hold out for Trails and Sequences.
Joker (Wild Draw)
Before the deal a card is drawn and every card of that rank becomes wild for the round, which is 4 wild cards in the deck. About 22% of hands contain at least one (1 − 17,296 ÷ 22,100). The change is gentler than AK47, but a wild card still upgrades a hand by at least one ranking, so adjust upward what you consider a good hand.
Lowest Joker and Highest Joker
In Lowest Joker, the lowest card in each player’s hand is wild; in Highest Joker, the highest card is. Every player gets a wild card, so Pairs become Trails automatically and Sequences are easy to make. Expect showdowns between Trails and Pure Sequences, and treat anything below a Sequence as weak.
Hukam (Trump Suit)
A card is turned up to set a trump suit for the round. Rankings stay classic, but when two hands tie, the hand with more (or higher) trump cards wins, depending on the app’s rule. It rarely changes who wins, but it removes split pots.
4-Card Teen Patti (Choose the Best 3)
Each player receives four cards and plays the best three. With four cards to choose from, the chance of holding at least a Pair rises sharply, and Colors and Sequences become far more common. Hands that would be strong in classic, like a low Pair, are only average here.
Which Variation Should You Play?

- Like calculating odds: Muflis rewards players who can un-learn classic instincts.
- Like big hands and action: AK47 and Lowest/Highest Joker produce frequent Trails.
- Want fewer split pots: Hukam.
